D. Sloan Architects, P.C. is an Architectural and Planning firm located in Albuquerque, New Mexico that provides comprehensive planning and design services. The firm was established in 1985 by David N. Sloan, enrolled member of the AIA and practicing architect and planner for twenty-five years. D. Sloan Architects, P.C. is a sub chapter “s” professional corporation and is a certified Indian-Owned Enterprise by a number of Tribal, State and Federal government agencies.
D. Sloan Architects, P.C. has had the honor of planning and designing a wide spectrum of projects for local communities and clients throughout Southwestern United States, as well as a number of governmental agencies serving communities such as the Department of Interior (Bureau of Indian Affairs, National Park Service), Public Health Service (Indian Health Service) and the Smithsonian Institute. The firms’ history in assisting local communities required extensive working knowledge of culture, history and landscape, including cultural legacies and past events that have shaped the communities and their built environment.
The history of D. Sloan Architects, P.C. is its Native American staff of designers and architects, including professionals who have the personal experience and unique understanding of cultural aspects, native landscapes, and community development on New Mexico lands. Through this experience, D. Sloan Architects, P.C. has developed a working knowledge of traditional and use federal government relationship, and local customs regarding decision-making and problem-solving. This expertise has facilitated and enhanced the design and construction administration of projects built in rural and remote settings throughout in the Southwest.
