How 808 Investigations Got Started

I have always believed that truth has power, not just in a courtroom but in the lives of real people who need answers. My name is Debra Allen, and my investigative career began long before 808 Investigations officially existed. My journey started in 1983 when I joined law enforcement and spent decades serving as a homicide detective and later as a District Attorney Investigator in California. Those years taught me that every case, no matter how complex or emotional, comes down to facts, integrity, and compassion for the people involved.

After retiring from public service, I was not ready to stop investigating. I had too much experience and curiosity to walk away. In 2004, I became a licensed private investigator in California, and later expanded to Hawaiʻi, where I now live and operate full-time.
