I have spent the majority of my career calling on C-Level individuals. There are many things you need to know before you even make a phone call. Here are a few.

What industry is your prospect doing business?

What is the total market cap in that industry?

Does your prospect have any percentage of market share?

Who are the main competitors?

How are the competitors positioning themselves to sell their product?

If your prospect is a public company, read their financials and look for the CEOs goals for the fiscal year. Also look for all the key senior executive... (more)

If I were in your shoes I'd do a couple of practical things first.

First, I'd buy a local newspaper everyday and look for news related to your services...such as domestic violence, dui's, etc.

Then I'd make sure every guidance counselor in every school in your local area knew me.

Next, I'd develop a relationship with your local police and fire department, offering your services when and if the need arises. (Bringing them donuts on a regular basis, a couple times a month would be smart too).

There are many avenues you could take in terms of utilizing digital advertising such as PPC campaigns (if you have a website) and social media advertising. Both of these forms of advertising offer the opportunity to hyper target your ideal demographic.
