First of all any business needs an autoresponder with awesome tools in the autoresponder. This way you can get new leads and stay in touch with customers. Email Marketing brings in more money than people think. As the old saying goes, " The Money Is In The List." I can help if anyone needs it. Get your sales booming and building a great list.

Offer your current loyal customers an incentive to tell their friends, family members, and coworkers about you. If their referral results in a sale, then they get a credit on their account of some type. Make it worth their while! Works for us! Scott Maxwell - Turf Specialist/Production Manager

I'm not a landscaper, but I use one. I would think your best bet would be to get on board with local businesses that will recommend you. This might mean doing some work for them at a reduced rate until they get to know you. People aren't going to refer you if they don't know you and your work. From what I understand from my own landscaper, it's difficult to survive on word of mouth referrals because the business is just so competitive. Not that word of mouth referrals aren't valuable. I do a lot of local online marketing for my own business, plus I get... (more)

As others said, you do really good work- more than your customers expect. You also have to give referrals to get them. It's a two-way street. You need to market yourself in various ways regularly. And finally, align yourself with others in the industry, like a landscape designer, who will feel good about referring you and using you to install his/her projects.
