If I had a purple Ford Focus with pink and yellow paint splashed all over it, would you buy it from a Ford car dealer lot? What if it was on a Mercedes lot? How about a Ferrari lot?

An ugly car is just.. well ugly, your not going to buy it regardless of what dealer lot it is on..

My point is.. If that purple Ford Focus with pink and yellow paint splashed all over it was your marketing message... Would it matter what platform it was on?

A bad marketing message will fail regardless of the advertising medium you put it on..

Picking a platform before you have a... (more)

OK, Wendy, you have a set of good answers here already, so no need to rehash.

Instead, let me suggest something else: It's called RELATIONSHIP MARKETING.

Here's the background to the idea: When I'm thinking Spa, I'm thinking pampering, reward, antidote to stress, relaxation, Zen, calming, etc.

When would I want all this? Mostly as a personal/emotional reward after a stressful experience.

What's a stressful experience? A Saturday multi-hour shopping trip through Costco, the Mall, etc.

Ready? Here comes the idea: Go to the local stores in your area (within a radius... (more)

You're welcome, Wendy! If you have any questions, need some pointers, or want to bounce off some ideas at that time, let me know. I'll be happy to help. No obligations and no strings attached. I do things like that for fun - not for profit.

I advertise on Yelp and Google mostly. The more people seek me out the higher on the list my Dayspa gets. Ask clients to give you a review. People nowadays are looking for star ratings. My spa has 5 stars on google and yelp.

My clients say they find me on the internet. Yelp and my website. They tell me they read reviews and then decide if they are going to use me or not. I am constantly amazed at how far people will drive to see me. Pray I pray a lot....:)

Hi Wendy, I would recommend investing in brand development and strategy. In my experience, social media pays off for online shopping-- but does not have significant... (more)

Do you have any product or service that you can afford to give away free or deeply discounted as a part of a marketing promotion? If your friends and relatives use your spa services, ask them to check-in on Facebook and talk about their experiences there.
