Hi Fred:

The basic formula for a successful Facebook ad is 1.) have a call-to-action, 2.) use high-quality photos, 3.) keep your ad fresh every 1-2 weeks, 4.) write the important content first, 5.) be clear about your target audience, 6.) promote an event or special offer (i.e. discount, coupon or other promotion.) There are lots of variables so test your ad using the minimum daily amount of $5 per day first by comparing multiple versions of your ad, changing 1 criterion at a time and then tracking performance.
