Definately online. I've used both and the online interface is easier to use. Plus my accountatn and CPA can access it.

Desktop...for the sheer fact that I started using it before there was an online version...and I haven't changed yet :)

It really depends on the size of the business. I personally prefer the online version of it where everything is saved on the cloud and no backups are required. This is in addition to the software gliches, updates and upgrades that needs to be done for the desktop version.

I am a long time user of QB Desktop, but QB Online is by far my favorite product for a variety of reasons.

Employees can track their time out in the field from their smart phones, eliminating the hassle of manually entering time every week for payroll. Got inventory? There are hundreds of apps in the appstore that integrate with QBO for all types of companies. Yes, there are no "batch entries" like in QBDT, but considering how easy it is to import files from Excel into QBO...why would you ever manually batch enter transactions? I absolutely hands down prefer the Desktop Version. It is much more user friendly and allows you to navigate in a much more fluid manner. Online drives me crazy!
