Any Recommendations on Where to Hire Plumbers, Electricians, and HVAC Technicians?

By Chris Childress · Posted on Friday, November 25, 2016 · Tagged in Word-of-Mouth

We are growing year after year and it is getting harder and harder to find plumbers, electricians and HVAC technicians. Where do you recommend we look for blue collar workers?

For the local crowd, we're in the Waltham, MA area.

Check out BNI groups. They often have skilled, experienced self-employed craftsmen who may or may not be interested in a full time W-2 type job.

Hi Chris,

I would try to connect with trade schools in your area. like:

1; http://www.martinelectricalschool.org/

2; http://www.baystatetech.org/

3; http://www.petersonschool.com/

4; https://capecodplumbingschool.net/

5; http://stitech.edu/

6; http://www.newenglandhvac.com/

They LOVE to enable career opportunities, after completing the training courses. It makes their schools look good and helps businesses that want to hire quality trained professionals.

Let me know if this helps!

Other than contacting the local union, there is no place to specifically go to hire individuals other than various websites catering to home owners. If you are looking for employees, the only other options are word of mouth or placing an advertisement in local papers or on job boards or craigslist.
