Do You Think Shopify or eBay is better for online sales?

By Dawn Converse · Posted on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 · Tagged in General Discussion

I'm hearing a lot about Shopify. We are beginning to pick up on our online selling for clients and I'm wondering how this compares to selling through eBay? Has anyone used both and can help us differentiate between the two?

I agree with Jordan here. Shopify offers you the ability to take control and ownership of your online sales, build your brand, collect customer data, and grow your business. Amazon and eBay provide massive marketing engines, which can be difficult to pass up. They also take a piece of the action. At the end of the day, if you want to create a real brand, go with Shopify.

I prefer Amazon to them all. But it really depends on the product. Shopify I believe offers more options. But ebay has a longer history for online sales.

From Maryn Jacobs, a graphic designer who is much more knowledgeable than I in this area: What are they selling? Shopify is better for e-commerce especially because with a website you can set meta tags and item so it is a searchable product in browsers.

Long term Shopify will be the best solution 100%. Full integration with everything, scalability will never be a problem. If you want to build your on brand don't consider anything but Shopify.
