What Materials Do You Use to Educate Yourself on Digital Marketing?

By Becky Harris · Posted on Friday, June 9, 2017 · Tagged in Online Marketing

This could be search engines, webinars, videos, reports and papers, asking friends and family, etc. Where do you go when you have a question on digital marketing?

Quora is becoming very popular these days. It is a great place to ask and answer questions. The more specific the questions the better the answers.

I also really like Gary Vaynerchuk for getting me motivated to find out these answers.

I read about one book every 2-4 weeks and watch about 3-6 webinars per week.

I also like to comment on various articles, lately I have been reading some really good reports on Millennials and Gen-Zers from IBM and Deloitte.

I also do a ton of Searching on Google for specific questions I might have.

Thanks for your response, Darrell! And how do you decide if you can trust a marketing source or not? Like why do you listen to Gary Vaynerchuk versus one of the many others offering similar digital marketing advice?

Hey Becky, I have been following Gary Vee for years both for advice and inspiration. I really like gary Vee's no non-sense, let's cut the Bullsh*t attitude.

In fact I am thinking about only working with Gary Vee fans to start, this will cut my sales cycle down by 20-40%.

When it comes to trust, I always go with gut feeling and research, besides what people are teaching quite often has to be adjusted to fit each business and person individually.

Your question fascinates me...

We go to doctors when we're sick.

We go to the mechanic when the car is broken.

We go to the Dentist to get our teeth looked after.

We buy our homes ready build

Heck we outsource the simplest things in life, like the care of our children!

But when it comes to business and making money business owners decide to take it upon themselves to take their energy away from there core business (Could be building blue widgets) and focus it on the 2 most important things to your businesses survival and most often suck at it!
