The three most common reasons for sales decline are 1. inadequate marketing, 2. ineffective marketing, or 3. no marketing. Most often it is #3.

And it to be effective, you need smart marketing that does three things: 1. Differentiates you from all your competitors, 2. Reaches your target audience(s) specifically and 3. Repeats your message as frequently as possible.

Most businesses are doing none of the above -- which is why their sales are dead.

Shiya,

First question to ask, why? Most common mistake, stop marketing when you have a steady stream of customers. Marketing is key to the success of all businesses. You need Lead Generation that supply's a steady stream of new customers. Also, I have a 3rd party video on site that explains what provides the best Marketing ROI. As well, you should consider cross promoting a complementing synergistic business that adds value to your customers. I am in your area and can help with that.

So you had a smooth running system and now it is slowing down....

1st rule of ITIL.. What has changed? You may want to do an internal investigation into what that change may be. Could be anything from a new hire that answers the phones being rude, to a break down in quality control.

Until you look back at was working, and what has changed to make it not work now, and fix it, you will likely keep losing sales and burning money.

Before we get to the "dos" lets go over the "don'ts.":

DONT's: Don't "panic," don't "compare yourself to the competition," don't assume there's "something wrong," don't lower your rates.

DOs- Start with the internals. Use this as an opportunity to re-examine how your company functions. Everything is a learning experience. One system we installed when we "lost" our first client was to ask them "why." This accomplishes several things: 1. This establishes you want a relationship beyond the "termination" point. 2. The established you care about te equality of your... (more)

Work harder, review all possible reasons and if unsure as to why, contact a business and marketing specialist to help define issues and put a plan in place to effectively market you.
