Hi, Jerry.

Could you give an example of one? I'm wondering if our members might perhaps use them, but not call them the same thing.

(personally, I'm not familiar with the term at all, but might know something 'within that ecosystem', so to speak.)

I operate a local barter exchange. There are many barter exchanges across the country. If you are in Jersey check us out! www.barterpays.com. I also give more info about barter exchanges in my general reply to this question.

I operate a local barter exchange covering New Jersey. Online-only barter networks are different than a local barter network because you have local representatives that are selling and promoting your company. It has big advantage over a direct-barter, because you don't have to find a perfect match. If a sandwich shop needs orthodontia, the dentist doesn't have to buy $5,000 in lunches directly... Instead the deli sells his food to many new customers in the barter network, and then uses the barter dollars to select what he/she wants to buy that is within the... (more)

I've used barter for many years and was once an agent for a barter exchange. Sadly, that barter exchange screwed my clients so I left.

I tried a few other barter exchanges, but most were poorly done.

Recently I joined Simbi - an online barter exchange.

Simbi is the best barter exchange I have ever used. I have completed several exchanges. You can do one-on-one exchanges or exchange for Simbi points that you can then use with most other member's offerings.

Simbi has an excellent community vibe and I find it is working quite well for me.

I am the owner of a barter franchise in Ontario Canada. Tradebank Canada has expanded from it's original office in Hamilton to regions all over Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta. There are approximately 3000 businesses doing trades every month. If you can wrap your head around the math, barter is a great way to save money. As a broker, I am an outside, inexpensive sales and marketing arm for your business. #thinktradefirst

Our company belongs to a local barter exchange in the Chicago Metropolitan area. And, our marketing division serves as an independent sales consultant for that exchange. That being said, we trade 5 figures worth of business annually; and, we trade out for medical care, automotive repairs, promotional goods, Christmas presents, customer loyalty incentives, dry cleaning, concert tickets, legal services, salon services, accounting services and restaurant vouchers...just to name a few items that we can "purchase" through the barter exchange. In fact, we were even... (more)
