What Kind of Information Is Most Likely to Influence a Pet Owner to Choose a Particular Veterinary Practice?

By Eric Lewis · Posted on Monday, June 5, 2017 · Tagged in Research

I'm interested in what information will most likely a) influence a pet owner to choose one veterinary practice over another, and b) how a veterinary practice can encourage pet owners to follow a call to action and bring their pet in for services?

there are many ways, starting with a competent compassionate and professional staff. Carimg first for the animal them 5he ownsr then the community and profits last.

Get very involved in the community. Put on events and fundraisers for local rescue group's and your shelter. Give and you will be rewarded. See more in our BOOK. RESCUE RENEW REHOME. On Amazon books.we deal with lots of vet's. As a nonprofit we make our choices on Competence Cost and Caring.

I take my dogs to 5 different vets for different reasons.. I am very knowledgeable regarding vet practices and the latest protocols coming from Europe, 1 rabies shot for life, minimum vaccination and in dosage that is in relation to size of dog. When I go to vet, I usually have a good idea what is wrong so tell them what I want done, xray, MRI, etc. Vets have to be up to date on European protocols since we are ahead of the US by 50 years

I look for a vet who takes the TIME to fully explain what the issue is affecting my pet in simple terms that I can understand; a vet who doesn't put profit before proper treatment((i.e. ordering unneccessary tests)); another aspect I am greatly leaning into now, is more holistic methods((i.e. TCM -Traditional Chinese Medicine, herbs, essential oils, massage, acupressure/acupuncture, chiropractic for animals, etc.)) or can recommend a reliable holisitic vet. Another thing I look for is if their practic takes "exotic" animals such as rodents, ferrets, rabbits,... (more)

I look for a certified Cat Friendly Practice as have difficult cats, I look for AAHA accreditation, I look for staff that emphasizes continuing education for all staff in the latest veterinary practices, and practices that are willing to learn or have gone through Low Stress Handling / Minimal Restraint training and certification.

In a more general way - friendly and courteous front desk staff, neat organized and clean waiting area, sparate wait area for cats and dogs to minimize stress on the animals
