What's Your Experience Outsourcing Marketing and Web Expansion?

By Daniel Morrow · Posted on Friday, May 19, 2017 · Tagged in Business Website

Hi Folks,

I've asked a few people on my social media, it's time to make my query public. What kind of experience do you have outsourcing companies to help with your online marketing (ie blog posts, social media management, website management, funnels, lead generation, etc)?

Do you find it's better to use your own voice and automate a lot of it with bots or programs like hootsuite/hubspot, etc?

Hi Daniel, long time no speak. Welcome to alignable.

Lets look at the definition of outsourcing.

Daniel you sell insurance... Do you own the insurance company? likely not.. You are an outsourcer, you are providing a service.

Mari-Lyn - Do you grow all your own fresh ingredients for your pies? do you grind all your own flour? No.. you are relying on others to provide you ingredients, you buy them........You are out sourcing.

Does Coca Cola hire staff to do task that need to be done in their company? of course they do. It is still a form of outsourcing, you are... (more)

Maury, I want to respond to your comment back to me, first of all Thank you for calling me out. Let's compare apples with apples - of course I buy from suppliers to make my pies with. What I got from Daniel's question was "should he outsource his marketing/social media?" He didn't say out outsource his services. There are certain things he can and perhaps ought to. I just don't believe it ought to be fully out source.

This is a loaded question because there isn't one simple answer. For example, in my business model we offer training (for those that want to do everything themselves), a Growth Hack package (leaves the client in charge of content while we grow the potential customer base), and a full on agency package (we do it all). Every business is different, and you just need to find the solution that's right for you, your schedule, and your business.

If you need any help, let me know. I love working with new clients.

Hi Daniel,

This is a really great question, I'm glad that I stumbled upon it. I think the big question you also have to ask yourself is how much time do you want to take off your plate? Creating an online marketing strategy, especially with all the examples you mentioned, definitely takes time regardless if you hired someone in-house or outsourced it.

When making the decision to outsource, you want to make sure that you get all your questions answered before signing anything. Best practices for any outsourcing marketing work, would be that whoever you are... (more)

Time is our greatest asset Todd. We can't do everything from A-Z within our businesses, as much as we try to sometimes.
