First of all, Lori Brooks' tips are great, and I'd highly recommend going through them in detail.

I'd also recommend you make sure you understand the difference between a "Web Designer" and a "Web Developer" as those are often confused for being the same thing, but each offers very different skill sets and can do very different things for you.

A Web Designer is basically a Graphic Designer who is skilled at designing the layout and overall appearance of a website. They can create a beautiful site for you, but may not have all the technical skills to put what... (more)

Awww, thank you Jason! In all honesty I appreciate you providing clarification on the roles and skill sets for the community at large! This was the perfect bit of information I totally took for granted when providing my response. I would love to have you as a guest in the near future. I can see you would provide the audience with an enormous amount of value! Please don't hesitate to connect, I look forward to touching base.

I use Magento or zen cart for my website it is a do it your but they have forums which you can get answers. If you don't want to do any work except to post and insert pictures wix.com is pretty good. Also if you need help in a technical nature I use freelancer.com they are very reasonable you can get work done for $15.00 an hour.

Janki, I feel, offered an excellent suggestion. Go to www.upwork.com. Here you will find the world's largest network of freelancers that do website design, including e-commerce sites. I use it often with my clients and have a background in marketing so I'm familiar with what good website design looks like. I like Upwork because you can "post" your job requirements and have companies and individuals from all over the world bid on your project. There are tools that help you evaluate the candidates, like how many hours they've worked on Upwork, what is their... (more)

We have a package called Business Booster designed precisely for this. Selling online requires marketing and advertising and a website to support it. Getting just a website is like getting a sports car without an engine. It may look great but its not going anywhere.

Good Morning. I am a Web Designer. I read most of the comments on here. They seem to be very informative. If you would like to discuss your ideas, design and business further, I would love to hear from you, that is if you haven't found anyone yet. You can email me at [email address].

Have a great day
