I remember one commercial real estate had a commission of anywhere from 10% to whatever you could negotiate with the seller. After the crash in 2008 it looks like many Realtors or brokerages went to a 6% Commission. I still cannot figure out why. Once that started it looks like a precedent was set. If you're a company like Mertz or some of the larger ones they're probably still getting 10 to 12 whatever they do an excellent job and I respect them for that. It's good to the Residential Properties you see people now doing them for 4% because they're trying to get a listing it doesn't make sense if you can stick in there with 6 and back in the day we used to even get seven or eight. I would like to see the commercial Market go back to 10%. One realtor did say they could be negotiated on the amount of square footage I mean there's so many entities and Commercial or should I say different entities on where you can calculate your compensation. If you are realtor or an investor or are thinking about becoming a realtor give me a call I'm with Keller Williams and I'm happy as I can be. I spent 29 and a half years with Century 21 and I thought I knew quite a bit or should I say I thought I knew most of it but put the Keller Williams system I learned a lot more. Hopefully this is helpful to you if you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact. It's all about the negotiation but don't negotiate so high you negotiate yourself away from the deal and someone else steps in and takes it over. Have a nice weekend
