Beverly, we're also in the travel agency business, 2020 was profitable for us but so much lower than we expected. One of the things that has worked for us are Zoom meetings with clients. We are an online business but clients seem to like to put a face to our names

I have the same challenges you do, although I did not collect unemployment, there has been no income coming in and with business expenses continuing to come in, this just might be my last year.

I've used the opportunity to upgrade our website, Social Media, and other business methods. Keeping our name out in front of our customers has proven to be valuable. We moved our consultation process to Zoom and families love it! Our business is slow to improve and we don't expect to be up to our 2019 revenues until at least late 2022. Travel is struggling and we are along with it. I would think a virtual event would work out good for you, it would keep the kids socially distancing while entertained.

I can only tell you from experience, I plan my marketing at least 6 months in advance, and back in September I was looking for something to do for Valentines. I sell Disney Vacations so I decided to market sweetheart packages. I know men have trouble popping the question so I came up with additional items for our packages. In addition to the standard Disney packages we added pricate limo transfer from airport to resort, a list of romantic locations throughout the parks, a Glass Slipper from Arribas Brothers Crystal Arts, Floral arrangement from Disney Florists, Dinner at the Cinderella Castle where the proposal will take place. and a free Bridal & Honeymoon registry from Honeymoonwishes.com completely Disney themed. Locally we look for companies that we can foster relationships with such as our local liquor store to sponsor a wine tasting, we add a local restaurant to host the even with tasty samples while we show a video of Disney river cruising with Adventure by Disney. In the past we have used our High School for large scale vendor productions of Alaska with Holland America Line, our local country club for hosting the dinner event, a printer for marketing our programs, all with free ads for the suppliers. By sharing the programs with all of our clients we all expand our customer base and get to introduce our services at a fraction of the cost as everyone contributes.
