Hi Tamerin. Yes, as others have mentioned this is is a very open ended question. We are a local Alexandria cover band that plays more songs from the seventies and eighties than “contemporary” by virtue of the venues we play, the audiences at those venues, and our own tastes. That said, I have personally gotten into Lizzo and Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit lately. Outside the mainstream there are literally tons of emerging artists from virtually any genre you can think of active now. For reference check out Stereogum’s website, which they update daily. I’ve discovered many new artists there.
