Infosec Check
Infosec Check closes the gap between business leadership, technology, regulatory compliance, and cyber insurance. We help independent insurance agencies, tax and accounting firms, and other businesses entrusted with sensitive data build practical, defensible cybersecurity programs before a breach, audit, or claim exposes what was missed.
Our work includes risk assessments, written security programs, control verification, incident planning, regulatory readiness, and cyber insurance preparation. We coordinate with your IT provider, attorney, CPA, and insurance agent without replacing them.
Founder Joseph Boyd brings 25 years of technology experience, postgraduate cybersecurity governance and compliance research, and insurance industry knowledge. As a Virginia-licensed Property and Casualty Insurance Consultant, he works on retainer for the client, independently of the insurance carrier. Our purpose is simple: turn scattered cybersecurity activity into accountable business protection.
Infosec Check grew from more than 25 years of experience across technology, cybersecurity, business operations, and insurance.
Joe Knows: When you go to war, do you want the fresh new rookie on your team, or do you want deep foxhole experience? Joe has lived through a Major Loss Commercial First Party Claim caused by a Bad Actor. Joe knows how insurance that is thought to be on your team, plays out; Joe knows how court proceedings go. Joe knows how audits go, having been through one and being found "no wrongdoing." Joe has been through and navigated a Fraudulent SBA PPP Loan in his name where there was nothing he did to cause that problem. When you have a grenade land in your foxhole, the place you think you are supposed to be safe, you may want experience on your side because at the end of the day, insurance companies will limit their losses, bad actors will never volunteer their guilt, and the government will only do the minimum to stop the bleeding to their best benefit.
