Well, as a Police Department, and obviously as a non-profit, the "biggest success" occurs when an officer can truly "be there" for someone in their time of need. People who become police officers do not do it for the accolades, because if they did, they would most of the time be disappointed, especially these days. Instead, most officers do this work because they truly have an internal motivation to "do right" by the citizens they serve. The satisfaction an officer feels, when helping a person in need or assisting a person who has been victimized, is one of the greatest "successes" in most officer's careers.
I tell everyone I became a police officer to help people and make a difference in people's lives. There is so much more to police work than stopping cars and making arrests. The best part of my job is when I can PREVENT something from happening, or even better, be there to assist someone in a...

Unfortunately, while others are worrying about family gatherings, last minute shopping, and making preparations for Holiday parties, most police departments are worrying about impaired drivers, domestic violence incidents, and motor vehicle crashes (due to everyone being in a "hurry"). Since all three of these types of incidents increase during the holiday season, our police department wants to remind everyone to avoid drinking & driving, be mindful of what the season is really about, and to take extra time when travelling. No one wants to see a holiday celebration get ruined by a vehicle crash, unnecessary injuries, and/or a family argument. Wishing everyone a very HAPPY, HEALTHY, and SAFE holiday season!
