Davidson Oil Company was started in 1974 by Joe Davidson, the father of our present owners, Jodi Davidson-Teal and Chan Davidson. Joe quickly developed Davidson Oil as a leading-branded Texaco fuel and lubricants distributor and a convenience store retailer with a number of locations throughout Amarillo. In the late 1990s, the petroleum business began to quickly evolve away from the multi-product jobber model. Jodi and Chan joined the company to help execute a strategy to focus strictly on fuel supply, a business that had helped Davidson Oil distinguish itself as a leader. One of the keys to Davidson Oil's early success was the decision to haul its own fuel using a fleet of company-owned transports. Davidson Oil controlled the entire process from order to delivery which dramatically improved our customer's satisfaction and sales.
