What does that even mean for a business?
Social media is a GREAT way of getting new clients - for most businesses. The challenge for entrepreneurs is outlining how to move from people seeing your post on social to them becoming actual clients.
If you want results from a social media manager you need to make a number of things clear: Here are a few:
1. Your target market
Who are you targeting? If you haven't defined this very clearly; as in what this person likes to do, where they shop, if they do Starbucks or Dunkin', what sort of stuff they do for entertainment, it will be hard to formulate messaging that connects to your target audience.
A great part of the work you're doing on social is building rapport and trust. When you're doing your own social media, sometimes this process takes care of itself, because you post the things you do and like and people who do and like those things gravitate towards you.
However, when you outsource social, that natural connection between you and your audience needs to be nurtured.
Your social media manager must understand everything about your audience before you let them start creating and posting stuff.
2. Your branding
What do your posts look and feel like? What's the tone you use? What's your core messaging. What main themes do you keep coming back to and why this is important.
3. Your overall digital marketing strategy
What's the big idea? How does each post contribute towards one overarching goal. For example, if you are trying to position yourself as a go-to expert, then every post is working to get people to dig deeper into your content and see how you can help them solve a particular problem and to get them to finally buy a course or sign up for a workshop with you.
4. Your offer
When your social media audience decides they want to check you out, they need to land at an irresistible offer. Your social media manager needs to be very aware of what this offer is, what the benefits are, how it fits in with your other products and services. This way, their social media posts are less random.
