I am a private practitioner as a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist with over 30 years experience. Currently, I am working towards certification in Animal Assisted Play Therapy (AAPT) with my dog Kuro Knight.

How We Got Started

The majority of my career has been working for non-profits in residential, in-patient, and out-patient settings. The Medicaid paperwork began to increase to a level that was taking up half of my time. Therefore, I chose to start my private practice to increase client contact and decrease the paperwork. Much to my surprise, I have discovered how much fun it is being my own boss and running a business. Alaska has been good to me and in turn I want to be able to give back to our communities. It continues to be a privilege to work with Alaskan families.

I would contact an approved LMFT supervisor as well as some of my colleagues that are licensed in Alaska.  If the ethical issue also involved a legal issue I would contact the attorney at AAMFT for legal advise...I trust my colleagues. I have worked with certified art therapists to improve my knowledge of using expressive therapies in session.  On a more personal note, I enjoy any form of art to communicate a thought, feeling or idea.
