Do you charge for tasting? If so, do you charge at the time of booking the tasting or at the tasting?

I used to charge for the tasting. It was a $25 charge and if they placed the order then the $25 would be applied to the order. I would charge when they came in for the tasting. Now, i don’t charge for them anymore and i seem to get more people coming in for tastings. I pretty much book 95% of the tastings now so for me it works for not charging for tastings.

Thanks! I charge for the tasting, however, was charging at the tasting and if you booked with me, it was credited to your balance. If not, it is nonrefundable. Then I had a late cancel (like 5 minutes before the appt) and lost out on $ for the ingredients and time. Wanted to make sure it wasn’t tacky to charge at the time of booking a tasting.
