Triangle Area Parenting Support
TAPS connects, informs, and empowers new parents through inclusive, nonjudgmental, research based support programs.
TAPS uses the Program for Early Parent Suport (PEPS) to help parents become calm and confident while building their parenting village. Groups meet for 10 weeks with a volunteer facilitator to share experiences, share information, and learn from each other about how to survive and thrive as a parent. Research shows that when children live in families with a large social network, several concrete supports in case of crisis, adequate knowledge of parenting and child development, competency in their child's emotional development, and high resiliency, they are more likely to succeed throughout life (among other positive outcomes).
