Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a volunteer-powered nonprofit dedicated to rescuing homeless, neglected, and abandoned animals. Many of our dogs and cats from high kills shelters across the rural south where they have no chance of survival. Others come from the streets of Puerto Rico where massive overpopulation means that shelters don’t even take in stray dogs. And, a few come from international rescue organizations fighting animal abuse around the world.
We do not have a facility of our own. All of our dogs and cats live with volunteer foster parents until they are adopted. Lucky Dog’s about more than finding dogs and cats great forever homes. We work hard to educate pet owners on responsible pet parenting, including the importance of spay/neuter, obedience training, and good nutrition. We also have programs for kids and teens!
