Established in 1965 by Artesia resident Clif Perkins and his wife Selah, La Fonda has been a staple for locals and travelers alike. With friendly atmosphere, knowledgable staff, and outstanding cuisine, La Fonda is sure to bring a smile to your face (and your stomach!) Using fresh ingredients and portion sizes that will make you sweat, if you leave hungry- it's your own fault! We also have the largest selection of bottled and draft beers in Artesia!

The original restaurant- What is now called the "Banquet Room"- seated no more than 60 people. Today, La Fonda contains 5 dining rooms and a separate buffet room, seating 300 people.
In 2019 Clif’s daughter, Betsy and her husband Josh, bought the company and took over daily operations, continuing to "serve to please" as you’ve come to expect for 55 years. Betsy is an Artesia native, and a graduate from the Scottsdale Culinary Institute. Our Chef, Josh Shields, is a graduate from the Arizona Culinary Institute and worked in many fine dining restaurants in Scottsdale,AZ until relocating to Artesia.
