Getting a client can be very important. I've created several free book covers to show a client a sample. I've wanted to impress them with my talents so I've been willing to put in some work to show them what I can do. Many times it's worked out very well for me. It all depends on your line of business. I mean if you're a car salesman you can't give someone a free car :). But you can do your best no matter what your field to impress someone.
