Sharmalee B. Jones
Sonshine Elder Advisors, LLC
We recognize the importance of a thorough assessment that includes determination of medical, physical, mental, socio-economic, family support, medication management, emotional and environmental considerations that do or potentially may impact the ability of individuals to maintain independence. We also understands the losses that sometime come with aging, including reduced independence – due to physical mobility as well as the issues related to driving, the need sometimes to give/sell treasured possessions because of limited space in a new living arrangement and loss of relationships due to physical location, cognitive issues and death of loved ones.
Sharmalee's interest in working with the elderly resulted initially from being
raised by her grandparents. We believe that seniors are individuals worthy of
respect regardless of their current physical or cognitive limitations.
Quality of life is the goal and that may mean helping clients remain in their own homes, resolve an issue in a facility, provide support with following medical instructions or assisting in a myriad of other situations.
Sharmalee's education has included a focus on Alzheimer's disease, environmental
issues including adaptations for safety, and care management. She has experience conducting memory screenings and assisting with transitions needed due to health changes.
Recognizing the losses that accompany changes in aging enables us to provide support for clients and their families through difficult times. We listen and work with the client, family and service providers to ensure the most beneficial outcomes.
