Dear Jane, I am in the counseling field.  I would expect my clients to get an overview of my past experience as a person first; my background, education, languages spoken, community involvement, etc.  As a Counselor, I would be interested in which areas I am versed in; e.g. I am specialized in Family & Marriage counseling.  Which approach am I using? CBT, Psych.d., SF, etc.  Some of my clients are encouraged when they know about Solution-Focused (SF) Therapy; especially those who have limited insurance coverage.  Last but not least, being a Certified Christian Counselor & member of AACC, some clients are interested in exploring how am I going to integrate therapy with Biblical counseling; how am I going to help them look at their life issues through biblical lenses.  Hope this helps.
