Beyond these roles, he cherishes the titles of husband, father, grandfather, and pretty darn good cook.

These days 95% of all cold calls to me are robo calls which I quickly hang up on WITHOUT listening to their message then block that number. I don't mind (in fact I welcome) real calls from real people if they have a product or service that has to do with my business. I may learn something??? If... I don't mind (in fact I welcome) real calls from real people if they have a product or service that has to do with my business. I may learn something??? If someone else calls selling car repair policies (the other 5% of calls) and they tell me that my lease car I traded in 4 years ago has gone out of warranty, I simple hang up and block them because they didn't do their homework and have a viable product.   Cold calls (walking in 80% or calling 20%) has allowed me to build multiple, multi-million dollar businesses.  But ALL of these calls were VERY targeted and well researched prior to me wasting my time or theirs calling.

NO Surprises...Do what you said you would do in LESS time than you said it would take and give them more service and attention than they paid for. The goal is to get them to say WOW! If business owners who want and need your products and services are not the majority of people attending these events, spend your time calling on your target prospects.  Sales people selling other sales people is a total waste of time and energy...yours and theirs.
