With over 30 years experience in photography, I am well-versed in "getting the shot." I love photography and I consider it a core part of my identity. The camera is an extension of myself.
When I was a teenager, I took a course in black and white darkroom photography. I was immediately hooked! I spent years in the darkroom, culminating in a life-changing stint in the University of Texas Art Department darkroom. My mentor, Mark Goodman, shepherded me through self-doubt and insecurity to a successful time in school. After UT, I went to Austin Community College. There I learned all about the digital and commercial side of photography. I loved it even more! Digital photography was brand new at that time, so about half of my assignments were still done on film. That's all changed now. I am proud to be one of the last few that shot on large format cameras at ACC.
