Mariposas Spanish School has been teaching children Spanish since its inception in 1999. Home grown in Austin, TX, we bring extra-curricular Spanish classes to your child’s school, home, or community center.
Mariposas is a hands-on, thematically organized program that allows children ages 2-10 to learn Spanish through music, literature, games, visual aids, sign language, art and beyond. The program runs from September through May with a two week summer camp in June plus additional weekly camp sessions offered in June & July.

Young children learn Spanish naturally and at the time we started, there were not very many Spanish immersion programs or classes in Austin. I loved working with kids and speaking Spanish so it was a perfect fit! As trial classes were held, we noticed that children were choosing Spanish over other extra curricular classes such as gymnastics or dance. They were not only learning a second language, but having fun. Making learning fun and easy is important in language acquisition. This gives the children confidence in themselves and their ability to learn additional languages.
