Shoreline Sailboats was started by us, Kyle and Darren Leonard as a way to promote our favorite sport. We saw the decline in sailing that started in the 1990s. Now, our own children are old enough to start sailing and it is clear that the number of people we used to sail with has dropped by a large percentage.
We decided that the most fun we had sailing as kids was on the Sunfish. We raced big boats and windsurfed, but to really be able to get out on the water in just about any conditions we would rely on our family Sunfish. But, as we looked around for Sunfish sailboats in 2012 we found few left in our area that were left sailing. So, our business is here to promote the fun of sailing, whether it is a Sunfish, Optimist, or Laser. We want to provide the boats and equipment both new and used for all generations of sailors.
