Great customer service is the foundation of our business. Our clients will tell you it was the calm voice of patience and knowledge during their first call that convinced them to try us. And they continue to work with the company because we cultivate a friendly and professional atmosphere.
That first phone call is critical to our business. If it sounds rude, harsh, or unprofessional in any way - it quickly becomes a silent killer to the business.

My clients were glad I moved online because they did not want to meet in person either. However some of my seniors still want in person visits so we meet and sit outside in the sun.
This way of business cost more and I hope everything calms down before the 2021 tax filing season.

So sad to hear of your loss. From Nov 2016 to Dec 2017 my husband and I have lost 10 family members; two of them were my mother and his father. Although we did not loose a child I do understand and feel your grief and shut down numbness. You have two major points of focus to address each day; the Nonprofit and You. You can't have one without the other. So try the following to promote the Non Profit and help you heal.
Start a blog on YouTube: this will provide a platform to talk about the purpose of the Nonprofit and as you talk about your son you are helping yourself to heal.
On your sons birthday use your website and blog to promote a "National Charity Day" You will talk about charities that support the needs of children(including yours) and have a drive for others to support their favorite charities. Place a link for each charity on your website so the donations go directly to them. Again, include your sons charity. Ask the local schools to let you pass out flyers. And ask local business and churches to let you post flyers and ask them for a corporate donation of $300 or more. This is a annual event and will promote your nonprofit and give you an outlet to talk and heal.
Ask funeral homes to partner with you: they can ask each family to contribute $5 to your nonprofit and promote your cause to those who need it. You could promote a funeral home to your clients that need their services. This also helps you support someone in need and thus help you heal.
Offer the same idea above to the local Stone Maker Company. They may even donate some of their time and services.
Do concentrated events on Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas, and New Year Day. This will help you get through the holidays.
You need to embrace the "numbness" of life. Accept were you are emotionally in your life. But don't let it overcome you.
I was running a business, working a full time job, caring for a disabled spouse and father during my grief cycle. To keep being a part of my life, I scheduled numbness, self pity, fall apart, and get it together times into my day. EVERY DAY FOR A YEAR!!! That was how long it took me. You take as long as you need for you. 2017 was all about fumbling through the day and falling apart. I incorporated the others in 2018.
Try this schedule and modify as needed. The goal is to keep you moving and thinking while grieving. You have to participate in your life as it keeps going and not give in to your grief.
Mon-Fri get up and participate in your life 8am-12 noon no matter what. Just do it. Get dressed and go to work on your charity and your sons legacy.
12 noon - 2pm Seek professional emotional support. A place and time to talk to someone about you. To learn about you and how you work. No one else matters at this time.
2pm - 5:30pm implement in your life what you are learning. This will help you fall apart and heal at the same time.
5:30pm - 8am fall apart and sleep as needed.
Sat and Sun are up to you! Modify as needed. Hope this helps.

This is an age old question and this age old answer is still the best answer: Referrals! I know it seems like it takes longer to see results but it is still the best return on your investment.
I have tried advertising agencies, mailing list, cold calling, flyers, and hosting events to get the name out to the public. I even tried personally handing out flyers and postcards offering discounts. And I did not receive one client; not even an interested question for my efforts.
As I look at my client list of over 150 clients; 148 have come from referrals. I received a new referral last year from a friend and she was so pleased with the services she referred 5 of her family members the same day. Four of them are now my client as well. And these are repeat clients!
I also get clients from my general conversations. A return on the investment of my time has proven to be much faster than any marketing plan I have tried. The cost is only $50 per client and this is a guaranteed repeating client.
