About Us
I was the first Board Certified Doctor of Oriental Medicine to practice in the State of Michigan when I returned home from Lost Angeles in 1984. I did family practice or general practice but have specialties in Pediatrics, OB/GYN, pain management, chronic diseases and drug addition. For the past 30 years have also been designing nutritional supplements (vitamins, minerals, Chinese and Western herbs) for the International market.
I also teach self defense, a Japanese martial art (Aikido) here in Battle Creek and seminars in the US, Caribbean and Pacific Rim.
How We Got Started
I did undergrad and grad work in Sports Medicine as well as Asian religion and philosophy. While in the Air Force I contracted an incurable disease and was given less than a year to live. Traditional Chinese Medicine saved my life so I went back to school and did graduate and doctoral work in acupuncture, herbs, diet and exercise.

Patients are slowly starting to return.
We do require them to wait in their cars until called, so as to eliminate people in the waiting area. When they do come in, they have their temperature taken and given a squirt of hand sanitizer before taken to their treatment room.

We have had several patients that refused to wear a mask and have complained about our safety procedures... they were asked to leave.
As a doctor of Oriental medicine, I'm not that concerned... as long as safety protocols are followed. Patients will wear a mask, as will I. It's not a blood pathogen so no need for gloves or gowns in the clinical setting.

It can be difficult to find a media type that reaches the people you think could use your services. In the past, I've put ads at the local movie theaters; thinking it would reach everyone. After several years of that approach, I got one person. Newspaper ads got me zero. I would occasionally get...

It can be difficult to find a media type that reaches the people you think could use your services. In the past, I've put ads at the local movie theaters; thinking it would reach everyone. After several years of that approach, I got one person. Newspaper ads got me zero. I would occasionally get someone from the Battle Creek Shopper, that did seem to have the biggest draw - although big isn't the right word. Most of the folks coming in came from word of mouth.
