Staying busy with old fashioned promotions has always helped us during rough patches.  Putting out flyers, handing out business cards to every person we meet, and posting on social media (non paid ads, just regular posts). We've learned, along the way, to promote more when we're busy than when we aren't busy. Most business owners tend to put off promoting and advertising when business is good, thinking that wave will go on forever. If you make the effort to promote ahead of your slow seasons, you tend to have a more reliable flow of income. Usually, summer time is very slow for our industry. As a result of promoting 2-3 months prior to slow season, we have seen the busiest May in our business' history. Even though we are slammed this month, though, we are vigorously promoting now because projections show a slow June & July. If June and July turn out to be as slow as projected, we won't let that discourage us to the point of cutting corners and providing subpar service at cut rate prices. However, we will make sure to continue giving quality service until word of mouth kicks in again. Cutting corners always catches up, so we just keep grinding away, doing the right thing, because that always catches up, too!
