About Us

If you wish to protect your loved ones, assets, and health, I can explain your options and answer your questions.

As a truly Licensed Independent Insurance Agent, I have the freedom to work with multiple carriers and find the right solution for my clients. This means I work for my client, not a company!

I take the time to get to know my clients and their insurance needs. In doing so, I can help determine the right insurance that fits their budget, and most importantly, their needs.

I understand how confusing some insurance products can be, including how Medicare works. This is why I volunteer and host Medicare educational events in multiple counties in Oregon and Washington. I review how Medicare works, the coverage, and the options available. It's important to me that my clients understand the benefits they will receive and see the most cost-effective options for their needs.

I take pride in my business, and value honesty and integrity while building a strong rapport with everyone I meet in conducting business, which includes a client’s family members. I believe in ongoing education to make sure I am up to date with the latest rules and offerings in multiple states.

Reach out today for a free, no obligation consultation and let someone who has worked in this market for over 12 years help you. Truly Yours, Amber Garrett

How We Got Started

I was actually working as a contracted sales consultant when I was recruited to work in the insurance industry.

I hate the word 'sales rep' and what's associated with that. I put everything into this little business of mine because I really love what I do and enjoy working with seniors as well as younger families. I will never push a product on anyone and will work hard to find the right solution that suits the needs of my client.

I value honesty and it brings me real joy when I'm able to help my clients and their families save money and gain a better understanding of how insurance products can work for them.

I love photography and cooking so I would have loved to work in either of those fields. I've fantasized about owning a food truck or bistro or a little photography studio. There are so many things I'd love to pursue and they usually involve me being able to be creative while making people happy.  (more) I love photography and cooking so I would have loved to work in either of those fields. (more) I wouldn’t necessarily categorize my experiences as crazy, but more touching and ‘feel good’.   As an Insurance Agent for Retirement Solution products, I have the opportunity to meet some amazing people and I get to hear their stories, some from WWII. My first touching experience is when I received a call from a gentleman who needed help with finding the right Medicare plan for him and his wife since they just moved to a new area. I met with them both and immediately saw old black and white photos hanging on their wall of various celebrities, but the one that caught my eye was one of Bing Crosby on all fours playing horsey to a little girl on his back with her little Shirley Temple curls and a big smile on her face. I commented on the photo and the lady told me that was her in the photo and her uncle Harry “Bing” Crosby. Her father is Bing’s older brother Bob who also recorded here in Portland, OR. I had planned on visiting my Grandma in CA and told them both how much she loved Bing’s music and I couldn’t wait to tell her about our meeting. They were generous and gave me one of Bing’s albums and one of Bob’s albums to bring with me to my visit. I gave the gifts to my Grandma and she was in heaven listening to her favorite tunes over and over remembering her days of dancing with my Grandpa who had passed 3 years prior. On the last day of my visit, it was my turn to watch my Grandma and make sure I helped her to the bathroom if needed. She got up a couple of times in the early morning hours confused and restless. I played her Bing and she lay in her bed with a big smile until she drifted off to sleep. Later that morning she suffered from a stroke and later passed away at the hospital. I’m so glad I was able to give her a small gift of music and nostalgia before she took her final rest at age 92. The second experience is when I met with a gentleman Olaf and his caretaker Gunter. Both were from Germany and very polite and hospitable. After meeting with them I learned that Olaf was at Normandy Beach during the American invasion. He was taken as a prisoner of war. He shuffled off to his bedroom and came back with a badge hanging from his neck and an old torn blanket. He showed me his prisoner of war name tag around his neck. The badge showed, taken from Normandy Beach France, and explained that the blanket was given to him by an American soldier during Christmas to keep warm in his cell. He was touched by the kindness and eventually moved him and his family to America for a fresh and free start in life. He did not give me many details of his experience and I did not press since while he was telling me the few tidbits of information from being a prisoner of war I could see the tears well up in his eyes. I absolutely love what I do, and I truly love to hear my client’s stories. It’s amazing what we can learn from a generation where someone’s word meant something, and they still extend a hospitable hand and offer refreshments during our visits. I cherish the relationships I have gained with my clients.
