JR DBA helps owners, small architects, and contractors solve code, permit, and occupancy issues before they become costly delays. Led by a licensed architect and ICC-certified plans examiner/building inspector, we provide targeted support for permit comments, change-of-use feasibility, ADUs, light commercial projects, AHJ coordination, and limited-scope peer review before submittal.

JR DBA grew out of hands-on building experience. I started as a carpenter’s assistant, worked my way up to running my own crew, earned an architectural degree, and later worked in design, forensic architecture, residential development, and code consulting across the Pacific Northwest. That path now shapes JR DBA’s practical approach to architecture, code, permitting, and construction problem-solving.
