The element that is most necessary for a visual artist is passion. It is what propels my work in order to express a balanced composition. Without passion, there is no creative expression. Without passion, there is no art. It is simply "picture making".   (more) The element that is most necessary for a visual artist is passion. As an artist, I don't encounter that particular problem. Here's why: if I am commissioned to do artwork, I stipulate a non-refundable 1/2 up front, the other 1/2 upon completion. Or, if making payments on a particular image, delivery upon final payment. All parties are on the committed level ground. (more) As an artist, I don't encounter that particular problem. That is an indication that they are potential buyers. During the course of conversation, depending on the degree of interest I will offer a payment plan, or, perhaps, a giclee (copy) as money is usually the factor preventing a sale. My father was a salesman. I would occasionally view his methods. Upon explanation and answering questions, he would turn the contract around, hand the buyer the pen, and say sign on the bottom line. A gentle push is often all that is necessary.

I react to what I see intuitively, paying close attention to detail, in order to achieve my objective, which is a complete composition that retains the energy and motion that is contained within the subject that I have chosen.
