My thought is that you will see many close and the ones that don't will have found a specialty that they provide.  Some items based on regulations probably will not be sold on line or an individual will want continue to purchase in a store.  This is a similar issue that small towns faced when Walmart came to town and many of the stores just didn't, wouldn't or couldn't think of a way to change themselves to complete.  Many came up with ways to change and became successful, the key to this is not wait until the last minute to start making the change but start working on it now and become a viable consumer destination.
