I guide coaches, heart-led executives & conscious leaders who are outwardly capable, yet internally navigating the cost of visibility, responsibility & truth-telling. If your voice feels tangled, your truth feels risky, or you're tired of shrinking to make others comfortable, youโ€™re not alone.

Iโ€™ve been there.

I spent years in silence after childhood trauma.

When I broke that silence through my work & leadership, everything changed. I reclaimed my voice & discovered a deeper purpose: to help others do the same, in service to the sacred.

Through private coaching & select fractional communications engagements, I help leaders & teams align voice, message & relational dynamics so communication becomes clear & sustainable. In organizations navigating growth or transition, I diagnose narrative misalignment & realign leadership communication.

Much of what breaks down in leadership, workplaces & community spaces is unexamined relational conditioning being replayed in positions of power. My work helps leaders recognize & unwind these patterns so communication becomes relationally safe & truthful rather than protective or coercive.

Iโ€™m known for being direct & deeply human when clarity, visibility & trust matter most. I bring decades of experience in business communication, inner work & conscious leadership.

I enjoy connecting with other professionals who support leaders and founders, and Iโ€™m always happy to keep an eye out for referrals in both directions.

How We Got Started

My work grew out of my own experience navigating the tension between truth, relationships, and visibility after experiencing childhood trauma. Reclaiming my voice through lived experienced, then later my work and leadership, changed the direction of my life and led me to support others in doing the same.

Early in my career I worked in communications and marketing, helping organizations tell their stories and connect with their audiences. Over time, I noticed that the challenges people brought into those conversations were rarely only about messaging. They were about relationships.

Leaders often knew what they wanted to say or lead, but felt the weight of how it might impact the people around them โ€” colleagues, teams, partners, or even family members.

Today I work with thoughtful leaders, founders, and coaches who want to lead and be visible in ways that are authentic, grounded and sustainable without feeling like they have to fake or force it.

I lost one of my kitties suddenly a couple years ago (we still have his sister). I've had chronically ill and behaviorally challenged pets too. It's hard not being able to "have a conversation" with them when they're anxious, ill or dying. Good to know that there are resources out there beyond the vet! As for your question, I've been working on referrals for my own business. I focus on growing my repeat and new clients too but I take the same basic approach to each, even though the details will vary. I really think this can apply to any service-oriented business:ย Strategy-Messaging-System. For example, if you're targeting vet offices (part of your strategy), what will you specifically say to them (messaging)? How will you approach them (outreach)? How can you systematize your messaging and outreach that so that you can reach more in less time and count on results? It may take a long time to bring a vet into the fold if you're showing up in person to all of them right?ย It might make sense to do that with the top ones, but a systematic process can get you in front of more people easier and help you build and nurture relationships. And in case you're wondering, you can still be extremely personal, intimate and high-touch (my biz is too) within that system.ย  Good luck!

I tried using an online CRM but Excel works better for me. I do a mix of personalized emails and autoresponders, depending upon the situation. For a long time I've kept the follow up swimming around in my head. No beuno. At the very least find a way to get it out of your head so you can keep better track of what you've done, results you've gotten and what your next steps are. Good luck!

Listen to people, ask them great questions, make them the center of your attention. Truly be curious about if and how you can help them. The way you go about finding new people to build relationships with is up to you. How do you like to connect and interact with people? Do you like big crowds or intimate groups? How much time do you have and how many people do you need to reach? Speaking to the right groups with the right content can net quite a few clients at one time when done right -- but it takes time initially to create and practice a compelling and valuable presentation. Networking events offer instant opportunities to connect face-to-face but there's a limit on how many you can attend and you need to take time to travel back and forth. No method is inherently right or wrong. The challenge is finding the best method or couple of methods that work for you. Make meaningful conversations your goal, then consider your lifestyle and communication style when it comes to figuring out how you want to add new people into your pipeline. Oh, and have fun! Whenever I feel light and excited about getting new clients, I get them much easier. Few people talk about this but attitude is a huge factor in your ability to attract and land new business. I wish you a ton of success with your writing business Karen.ย

I use certain online strategies, tactics and tools to enhance my offline relationships. I rely heavily on email for marketing and sales activities. I have an autoresponder sequence set up for new subscribers to my email list. Not everyone is ready to invest in business with you -- some may never buy. Having an email service provider and autoresponders to nurture relationships make it much easier to stay in touch. I get the sense in this area anyway that local businesses aren't using email in this way and would benefit from knowing how to incorporate online strategies to bolster their offline business.
