About Us

Terry Janis refined her skills of selecting artists and their objects of art after 12 years in a storefront Gallery called Adornments, in Grandview, OH. For the last 19 years she has transferred those abilities to her online website, featuring handcrafted jewelry, art, Judaica, and gifts. From all the talented artists out there, Terry has singled out artists that are outstanding in their field and she wishes to expose them to the general public, who otherwise, might not have any contact with them.

The Terry Janis Collection offers art and gifts in many categories, and they can be easily accessed on her website. Refine your search even more, if you are looking for a particular artist, clicking on the Bios and Artists Banner under her logo.

Thank you for our continued online success, and remember you can always view our merchandise by appointment, and there is NEVER any pressure to buy!

How We Got Started

I started painting sweatshirts in the early 1990's and people wanted to buy them off my body! I had no particular skills, but somehow my shirts said more to the public. I always liked to shop at small boutiques and galleries in other cities, and felt that Columbus didn't have anything like I was seeing elsewhere. I was fascinated with artist made "anything". So with no business experience, I opened my first shop inside an interior design store in Grandview, and just sold jewelry. Through experience and research, I ended up on Grandview Ave for 12 years. I loved every bit of it.

As far as what to do, I'd say do what your gut feeling told you - RUN!  You would have a hard time reconciling anything that came out of this deal.  The good thing is you recognized the manuever for what it was, and you would always have to be one step ahead of this guy.  Not worth it, in my... Since I'm an online merchant, it's difficult to do this.  But when I have an Open House, with live customers, on my publicity, I always offer a % if they bring a friend.  I can't say it makes a difference.  People will come if they want to, and this isn't much of an incentive. I use such programs as Paperless Post, that set up a response date, and then set up a scheduled reminder.  E-vite also does that type of automation.  They also show a list of who is coming, which may be an incentive.  Here's the clincher though - even though they may respond "yes", they still may...
