After 13+ years as an Office Manager II and Executive Assistant at BCD Travel—supporting senior executives and managing multiple office locations—I realized the work I enjoyed most always involved numbers. Organizing expenses, catching errors, reconciling accounts, and creating financial clarity came naturally to me.
Before BCD, I worked in mortgage underwriting and executive admin roles, and even then, I gravitated toward the financial side of every job.
When I stepped away from the corporate world to homeschool my son and create more balance at home, it felt like the perfect time to turn that passion into something of my own. That’s when Mertens Bookkeeping was born.
