About Us

We are a full service locksmith. Re-keying homes and businesses, cutting and programming transponder keys for vehicles. Lost keys, new lock installations, ignitions, auto door locks, safes sold, re-combo, maintained, opened and anchored. We truely have 24/7 Emergency Services

How We Got Started

My husband had been a locksmith for about 30 years and worked for others in their shops. We decided to open our own in 2010 and our son is journeyman working as a locksmith for 6 years now. I have always worked in offices sometimes fully running them so why not do it for ourselves? I love the people who come into our shop and those we visit when we go out to do work. I like the fact that we help people feel better about their security and safety. This is the best of all worlds. We can meet people, help them and make money too! What's not to like? In this day and age everyone should feel some security just to live every day. I'm just glad we can help with that.

Have a decent website, Not too cluttered but with enough info to show what and who you are and put something like pictures to grab their attention.  People LOVE personal pic Be sure it's MOBILE ready. Be sure to change it up once in a while Get onto Google.  Just use the free business area to insert your info and give your customers a place to review you.  Be sure you answer a review fast. Yelp is a pain in the #!%$$#! but if you use the free placement and get reviews there it can be helpful.   Don't be afraid to ask your customers for a Google/Yelp review.  If don't ask ... you don't always get.  Some will review anyway as they are geared that way but most don't even think about it. I have found that I get most of my new customers from word of mouth (a friend's or family recommendation) and then from Google.  A small minority still look in the yellow pages so I keep a listing in bold (Just name, address and #) under my catagory.  I also walk the business neighborhoods in my area and adjoining, stop into businesses, introduce myself and leave either a card or small brochure. Well these are a few tips for anyone out there.  Have a blessed day.

It's happening now. If I had kids today they would only have phones to TALK on and for emergencies only. Letting them have a phone all day and night (texting) is taking them further away from knowing how to deal with people, to be able to read people / situations to make good decisions. Common sense is flying out the window at an incredible rate and our young people are not taught to think on their own. I have seen two people sit at a table in a restaurant next to each other and not talk but text. Social Media is making selfies of all who spend too much time there.,

We even help clients over the phone if it is really simple. If, though, it is technical or involves trade explanations then we give a brief general explanation but if they want more detail all I say is that it is really too technical and time consuming to address this in detail. We can however make a video on the subject and if they would like to pay for the tutorial then we would be very glad to provide the answer. I find that the general explanations give the client that "deer in the headlights" look so further answers are usually not required.

Honest people do not take advantage of people. Honest people can take advantage of loop-holes in the system as long as it does not touch or hurt anyone else. There are times when you make a promise... but for circumstances beyond your control the promise can not be kept...BUT... in those cases communication is the key to straightening out the situation and making the promise good. There is no such thing as "unknowingly hurting someone". If you take the time to think about what you are doing, thinking and saying ... you can do so without hurting, stealing or misleading someone else. There are times when political correctness is incorrect and, in my opinion, that is most of the time, BUT you can still be honest, have integrity and be a successful business person without deliberately abusing the people you are dealing with either professionally or personally. Anyone who takes advantage ( Lies) to another for gain is not an honest person at any time EVER. They have it within themselves to be honest all the time or never. There is no such thing as a sometimes honest person. WHY DO THEY DO IT? Most of the time it's Greed and Power.....pure and simple.

The previous owner was a good locksmith but he had issues. He ran the lucrative business down to nothing by not keeping regular hours (mostly gone), being gruff and rude to customers, not keeping appointments and overall not very nice. We had to start from scratch all over again. Once folks started coming in again and noticed how we treated them word got around quickly. Once a person comes into our shop they never go anywhere else because we tell them the truth, we have good products/service and good pricing. I have gotten many horror stories of other locksmiths/or fake locksmiths sent out by call centers from people who come in looking anxious and when they get treated like best friends they relax and come back time and again. I can't give any one time that is more important to me then every time someone comes in. I am so happy when folks come in and say " My friend or a family member recommended your shop...or a business owner comes in saying they heard about how great we were... I get happy and feel so proud of myself, my husband and our son. You know .... It just doesn't get better then that. Have a Blessed day.

I hate someone to call me and try to sell me something or make an appt to come over and talk to me about my business. Cold calling is ONLY about selling yourself and your business. The building of relationships comes from the networking one does and how you treat your clients/customers. Then when they refer your business to a friend or relative you build a relationship with them and so on and so on. Relationships come from volunteering in your community or donating a service to a non profit or going to different functions (preferably free) so you can talk about yourself and listen while they talk about their concerns in a relaxed atmosphere. Another way to make contact is to attend public hearings like city counsel or planning commission meetings. Learn what is happening in your community and you can direct your attentions to what is happening now. Talk to people there and where the proper clothing like anything with your business logo and pass out a business card and say you would like to hear discussions on whatever is going on. This places you in the HUB of the movers and shakers of your town. It gets known very quickly that you care and people like to do business locally and will come to see you when they need you. Capture their respect for your professionalism and how well you do business and they will talk about you like wildfire. I know this takes a good portion of your time and energy but this type of advertising is PRICELESS and is the kind of wonderful soft sell people let into the circle of themselves and who they know.

Once there is an emergency then most of the time they just need you period. I have had some lock their keys in their car and still shop for the best after hour pricing. I just give them our price and if they find someone cheaper I wish them luck. I hope they find a legitimate locksmith but It's not my problem. We have our prices for our products and services. We are not the most expensive and not the least but we are licensed, bonded and insured and we are fast and efficient. Some want an estimate over the phone and I know that they take that to shop pricing. There is nothing you can do for this. If you are product based then if you know your product and your competitors products you can come up with reasons you have a better quality or better pricing than the others. Most of the time it really comes down to whether they like you. If they get a good feeling about you and your product/pricing is close then they will opt to buy from you. Make sure your service if extreme and that is the icing. They will come back to you.

(more) We joined our local Chamber of Commerce and attended all the weekly meetings for a year. I still attend but not as often. I walked the main streets of our town, visited all the businesses, talked to business owners, drove to all the Real Estate offices/Property Management offices and left flyers giving special rates to them and their clients. I then drove to all the vehicle repair shops, tire shops, body shops and gave them their flyers with special pricing and business cards. We put only a Bold Business name, address and number in the local phone book and set up our website to include links to Yelp, Google and Facebook. I have someone who puts stuff on Facebook for me as I have to time to deal with it. I have not, in the past, actively asked for reviews but we are doing that now. We will soon have a short 1 min. video attached to our website and am thinking about a quarterly newsletter. I haven't walked the town in 2 years and it has changed some so this spring and summer I will do so again and reintroduce ourselves. This has worked very well for us. Oh and it is my suggestion that you help in your community such as some volunteer work or cook meals for Habitat for Humanity's work crews every couple of months or something that keeps your face and your business in the minds of the people around you.

Facebook is a place for people who, in the beginning, wanted a fast way of keeping in touch with family and real friends, but now most just want to air their personal lives to anyone and everyone and love the shock value of really bad selfies, and horrible videos. The best way to get customers is to have a nice web site (mobile ready) and get yourself onto Yelp, Google and Google+. These are free and just spend some time keeping them fresh. Ask your customers to review on these and your will get noticed. Most of all.....do an excellent job and you will get referrals from those people. Forget Yelp or Google pay per clicks. Does not work for our profession.
