I know some extraordinarily talented musicians who seemingly have 'ALL THAT IT TAKES' to be successful. They can write, sing, play instruments, 'perform' and work very well with their audience with a drive and dedication to their craft. Yet, it seems years continue to roll by without being discovered by the right people. WHO are the 'Right People' anyway? Mainstream music, sadly... seems formula driven and personally, there's very little I like. The emphasis seems more on the visual than the talent... although, there clearly IS talent. Even gifted discoveries on programs like 'The Voice' get pulled into contractual obligations by the so-called 'Right People' to plug them into the 'Formula'. Organic, individual, creative expression... gets muted.
