Custom Creations, LLC began when Dan & Cathy retired and moved to TN to be close to Cathy’s family. Cathy, a former principal and school administrator, and Dan a former Mechanical Engineer couldn’t just sit around in retirement so they formed a small LLC. Cathy’s creativity and artistic bent is realized in working with stained and fused glass. Dan’s engineering skills turned into metal machining, welding, and fabrication. A natural outgrowth of having metal fabrication equipment such as a CNC Plasma Table led to creation of numerous plasma artwork. The later addition of a small CNC Mill and Waterjet expanded the type of fabrication available.

DRB Metal’s machine shop services is unique from normal job-shop machine shops in that because of the extremely low overhead machining services are very cost effective. A typical machine shop must produce a large quantity of a machined item to be profitable. The setup time to machine a part is often a large part of the job so one-off parts can be quite costly. Typical machine shops must charge high rates for these one-off machining jobs and there is little profit opportunity with their large overhead. DRB Metal is specifically organized to meet this type of machining need and is willing to take on the jobs that a typical machine shop doesn’t want.
