ChequesPlus was founded in 2010 by a Canadian businessman who was frustrated with the high cost combined with the relatively low customer service he received when ordering both his personal and business cheques from his financial institution. He conferred with family, friends, and business associates and found that many of them were experiencing similar problems.

He soon realized that supplying cheques was not an important aspect of a bank’s business and that the high fees and low service were a reflection of that reality. After some thorough research he found that it wasn’t necessary to purchase cheques from his financial institution as long as they were compliant with the Canadian Payment Association (CPA).

He then contacted commercial printers and found that he could offer printed cheques to businesses and consumers at a lower cost without compromising customer service. It was at that time that ChequesPlus was established.
