As a local business, what do you think of short-term rentals in Boulder?

The City Council is not doing enough to rein in skyrocketing rents for both homes and businesses. Their failure to do so is killing the character of Boulder. These short-term rentals help many people afford to stay in their homes because they offer supplemental income but they are also ways for those who have tons of money to take desperately needed rental housing off the market for people who work in Boulder. I am not against Airbnb but it needs to be balanced so those who work here and are working class can stay here. I would suggest that the only folks who can do it have to live in the house part of the time and can't just take a rental home off the market and thereby contribute to already skyrocketing rents.
