Hi Linda, for our retail store (2,100 sq.ft.) we decided on a system by ECRS/ScanGenius. They have a separate software program for our business (dietary supplements) as well as for many restaurants/bars in our town. Depending on what you retail, they may have a system for you as well. This system is extremely competent, and, not only give you reports on almost imaginable, but is also set-up to keep track of inventory and therefore help you with re-orders. The actual ordering program lets you set-up your own parameters, as well as "assist" you in your ordering; it's very nifty! After you put your order together, It will actually electronically send the order straight to the company you are ordering from through a program called "Gateway" (takes 3 seconds, or so) and then you can actually track if they received your order. This has happened to us before, where a company claims they never received any orders from us.

Anyway, there is a lot to say about it. I think 'price' is relative; it depends on how many man hours you now spend on ordering, keeping track of inventory, and mis-pricing items. This also comes with a label-printer that spits out any price/product label you need, in the size that works for you. This has eliminated employee pricing mistakes, as well as time spent using pricing guns and changing prices (where many mistakes happen), which doesn't make your customers happy... There is the ECRS headquarters in North Carolina; but there is an office in Great Falls, and there is local service, when needed.

Good luck to you.

It also comes with integrated cash-registers and scanners, as well as an office computer. You can make changes on any of these, and within 30 seconds all computers are updated.
